Loonhaunt Lakeis our closest outpost, located 20 air miles southeast of Nestor Falls. Experience excellent year-round fishing in this clear lake that has many bays and islands with excellent underwater structure and weed beds. Take your pick of angling for walleye, northern pike, lake trout or bass. The lake is quite large so no matter which way the wind is blowing there's always sheltered fishing relatively close to home.
Trophy walleye and bass are caught by guests every season, with plenty of smaller ones for the frying pan. Bass in this lake average 2-3 pounds. Four pound fish are common and trophies of 6-7 pounds are produced every year. The northern and trout provide great pole bending action and variety.
Cover the lake quickly and comfortably in 14' and 16' aluminum boats equipped with new 15 hp Yamaha motors and an unlimited supply of gas.
At the end of the day, you can cozy up in the 3-bedroom cabin. The large sun-room provides a great nook for curling up with a good book or for taking in a spectacular sunset.
Your cabin is outfitted with everything that you'll need to make the most of your stay. You'll enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, fresh bed linens, solar lights, hot shower, propane stove and fridge, bar-b-que, and wood heating stove.
The sand beach,large fire pit, canoe and wood-fired sauna make this an excellent family vacation destination.The grounds are roomy and flat making it an ideal playground for both two and four-legged guests.
A fly-in camp check is provided for your comfort and safety every couple of days weather permitting.
