Experience the joy of cozy cabin life without giving up all of the conveniences of home. Our outpost cabins are outfitted with everything that you'll need to make the most of your stay. Both cabins are equipped with similar features such as hot showers, propane stove and fridge, bar-b-que, wood heating stoves, aluminum boats, newer Yamaha motors, unlimited supply of gas and propane, solar lights, and a fully-stocked kitchen.
You'll enjoy a commanding view of the lake from either location. Soak up spectacular sunsets from the deck or sit on the dock to watch the eagles, beaver and otters play or to listen to the call of the loons.
A fly-in camp check is provided for your comfort and safety every couple of days weather permitting.
PENASSI LAKE
Penassi Lake is where real solitude and reel action meet. We have the only cabin on the lake, located just 36 air miles northeast of Nestor Falls. A 20-minute flight gets you deep into the wilderness and on the lake fast.
Tucked amongst tall pines and cedars on the edge of the shoreline, this two-room cabin can comfortably sleep up to six. It's ideal for small groups and couples and is the ultimate wilderness retreat for two people who'd like to have their own private paradise.
Penassi Lake is 3 miles long and features mostly rocky shorelines. You can experience good northern and trout fishing in its deep, dark waters. If it's walleye action that you're after, we suggest walking the 400' portage into Picture Narrows Lake where even novice anglers easily catch their limit.
LOONHAUNT LAKE
Loonhaunt Lakeis our closest outpost, located 20 air miles southeast of Nestor Falls. It's only a 10 minute flight from the base. Experience excellent year-round fishing in this clear lake that has many bays and islands with excellent underwater structure and weed beds. Take your pick of angling for walleye, northern pike, lake trout or bass. The lake is quite large so no matter which way the wind is blowing there's always sheltered fishing relatively close to home.
This 3-bedroom cabin can comfortably accommodate families and fishing groups of up to eight people. A large sun-room adds to the rustic comforts of this outpost. The sand beach, large fire pit and wood-fired sauna make this an excellent family vacation destination.The grounds are roomy and flat making it an ideal playground for both two and four-legged guests.
